Biography
Gabriel Orozco was born in Jalapa Veracruz, Mexico in 1962. He is still alive today and is 48 years old. From 1991 to 1994 he studied at the Escuela Nacional de Arte Plasticas in Mexico City. He also studied at the Circulo De Bellas Artes in Madrid, Spain. He studied in Madrid at the Ciculo de Bellas Musee d’art modrone de la ville de Paris in 1995 and 1998.
Orozco has shown his work in many museums including the Whitney Museum of modern art. Gabriel Orozco has been a constant world traveler since with his wife Maria Guteirrez and their son Simon. They go to Paris, New York, and Mexico City for Gabriel Orozco’s work.
His styles are sculpting, photography, painting, and videos. Gabriel Orozco spends time in Paris, New York, and New Mexico.

Gabriel Orozco has a great interest in mapping and geometry. He has a very wide range in art styles such as sculpture, painting, photography, and video. Sometimes he makes art from funny ideas such as a ball of clay, a flat soccer ball, and an abandoned kite. One of his more interesting sculptures is a ball of plastic that has been pushed around a city and picks up anything it rolls over.
