Amy beach was involved with music since she was one years old. She always loved music.
Biography
Amy Beach was born in Henniker, New Hampshire on September 5, 1867. She started singing at the age of one. When she was three, she taught herself how to read! She went to piano school. Her parents hired piano teachers. Her first piano teacher was Ernst Perabo, then Carl Baermann. Amy Beach started piano lessons with her mother at the age of six, a year later she started giving public performances. Amy was able to sing forty tunes by the age of one. She began writing waltzes at the age of four. She was the first women to write a symphony. Amy Beach was one of the first women to be a composer. Amy was self taught but she often learned by simple pieces. At age six Amy and her mother studied with the finest piano.
Amy did a lot of piano. She made her first public appearance at age 7. When Amy Beach was 43, she traveled to Germany to present her compositions, and revive her career as a pianist.
There were difficult things in Amy Beach’s life. One is that her family didn’t have enough money for her to go to the best schools in Europe. Another was that she wanted to become both a performer and composer. Next her husband died in 1910. Later she had heart disease. She died December 27, 1940. By the time Amy Beach died she wrote over 150 works.
