WHAT ARE CRYPTIDS?
Cryptids are beasts that may or may not exist. A famous example would be Bigfoot, the most common cryptid, a hairy humanoid who lives in western North America. This is but one example of the thousands of cryptids throughout the world. So, are Godzilla and King Kong cryptids? Definitely no. Why? Because there is absolutely no way a giant mutant iguana actually terrorizes Japan on a yearly basis, and there are no giant gorillas that fight dinosaurs and climb skyscrapers. But, it is possible that a large, hairy, bipedal beast lives in the forests of Washington and Canada.
WHAT DO CRYPTIDS LOOK LIKE?
There are many different cryptids, and they almost never look alike. There are
humanoids, such as Bigfoot, Yeti, and Yowie. There are
bird-like cryptids, such as Thunderbird, Mothman, and Owlman. There are also
dinosaur and reptile-likecryptids such as Megalania, Mok’ele Mbembe, and Giant Anaconda. There are also many cryptids who have had many different appearances over time such as
Chupacabra,
Nessie, and
Aliens.
ENCOUNTERS OF THE 1ST KIND
The most common encounter with a cryptid is an encounter of the first kind. Encountering the 1st kind would be simply seeing the cryptid and nothing else. This is most

associated with cryptids that live in the water, such as Nessie, Caddy, and Ogopogo.
ENCOUNTERS OF THE 2ND KIND
Having an encounter of the second kind with a cryptid would be sighting a cryptid that affects things around you, such as frightening pets and damaging terrain. This is associated with most cryptids besides water cryptids and flying cryptids.
ENCOUNTERS OF THE 3RD KIND
Encounters of the third kind strictly happens with Aliens. This is where you see an Alien in or near a UFO.
ENCOUNTERS OF THE 4TH KIND
Encounters of the fourth kind are when a human or pet is abducted by a cryptid.
ENCOUNTERS OF THE 5TH KIND
Encounters of the fifth kind are when people openly communicate with cryptids via telekinesis or speech
ENCOUNTERS OF THE 6TH KIND
Encounters of the sixth kind are when a cryptid sighting results in injury or death. The only Encounter of the sixth kind that resulted in death was the case of two teenagers
