B. You are almost right! Charles Darwin explored these islands for five
weeks back in 1835. He was mesmerized by all of the strange animals and
plants he saw. Darwin went on to become a world famous scientist. In his
book, The Origin of Species, he explained that these animals migrated
to the Galapagos from nearby continents. According to Darwin's theory,
these animals changed or evolved to adapt to their new home.
