- PowerPoint Basics
- Photo slide show: Dorthea Lange; photo sequence (digital pictures in PPT) PHOTO SHOWS
- Directions: Take 15 pictures of something ordinary, real-life event. For example, take a picture of someone playing with a football. Take the pictures to show a sequence of events that tell a story. Take some close-ups of details. Later, in the lab, select up to 10 pictures to tell the story. Use PowerPoint's photo slides feature to import the pictures from a folder. Then use the slide sort view to put them in order. Create page timings and transitions.
- Steps: working with a partner, decide on an idea. Open a Word document and type up your idea. Next, create a storyboard. Insert a table with 10 rows and 2 columns. In the first, describe the picture you will take; in the second describe the type of shot: extreme close, close, mid, full, wide, special effect clip art, or special effect- artistic effects (in PowerPoint).

Add fill effects if you like. Resize them to fit inside the lines. Use the "order" feature to send the rectangles to the back, behind the lines. Insert a short song from the sound clip art into the slide. If necessary, use the Playback tab and select "trim audio" to adjust the length of the song. 20-30 seconds is a good song length to start. Show the animation pane (animations > animation pane). Begin adding entrance animations to your lines and rectangles. Set all of your animations to start "With Previous". Then expand the animation pane to make it wider. Drag each animation along the timeline to adjust the delay time before the object animates in. Use your mouse to adjust the length of each animation. Try to make the speed of the animations match your music. Note: make sure you animate ALL of your lines and rectangles.
